- 1 cup heavy cream, cold
:For Assembly
- 1 package (7 ounces) of ladyfingers (about 24-30)
- Unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting
- Grated dark chocolate or chocolate curls, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the Coffee Mixture
.Brew the coffee and let it cool to room temperature
.Add the coffee liqueur (if using) to the coffee and mix well. Set aside
Make the Cream Mixture
.In a large mixing bowl, whisk the egg yolks and granulated sugar together until the mixture is pale and creamy
.Add the mascarpone cheese to the egg yolk mixture and mix until smooth and well combined
.In a separate bowl, whip the cold heavy cream until stiff peaks form
.Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated. Be careful not to deflate the mixture
Assemble the Tiramisu
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Arrange them in a single layer in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
.Spread half of the mascarpone cream mixture over the layer of ladyfingers, smoothing it out evenly
.Repeat the process with another layer of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone cream mixture
.Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. This allows the flavors to meld together
Serve the Tiramisu
.Before serving, dust the top of the Tiramisu generously with unsweetened cocoa powder
.Garnish with grated dark chocolate or chocolate curls if desired
.Cut into squares and serve chilled
Tips for the Perfect Tiramisu
- .Use high-quality, fresh ingredients for the best flavor
